A fantasy match that many WWE fans have put on their dream boards for the past year is Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels, facing off against the Phenomenal One, AJ Styles. The two were joined by WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash on last night’s Table For 3 on the WWE Network to discuss their careers and rumors of a potential dream match between the two.

Nash praised both stars, saying “both of you guys could come off the top rope, but you could both punch and kick and your stuff always looked so good. It was alway such an easy story to tell because it was always David and Goliath.”
Styles gave insight into the difficulties of putting on a dream match with HBK. “
Talk about this being easy, a lot of people wanted to see this (pointing to he and Shawn), but I feel like this would have been harder because we are the same size, I mean we could do a lot of stuff …”
Michaels agreed, and reiterated why he doesn’t want to comeback for the match. “We’d have to work our tails off! … Look, nothing would thrill me more. I do you no favors not giving you my best and there’s absolutely no way at 51 I could do it.”

Michaels recently revealed that he was approached by the WWE to come out of retirement at this year’s WrestleMania for a match with AJ, but had to turn it down because he just didn’t feel he could do that kind of match justice.
HBK broke the news of WWE’s request on the Sam Roberts podcast.
“They didn’t have an opponent for AJ at WrestleMania. I said that I hadn’t been asked because I hadn’tโbut then I was. I said, I wish that young man was here 10 years ago, man. I honestly do. I think he’s very talented.”
While HBK is enjoying retirement, AJ Styles will face Kevin Owens for the United States Championship at WWE Backlash.
