The Miz Retains The Intercontinental Championship At WWE Survivor Series

In seven times the Intercontinental Championship has been defended at Survivor Series. Only twice had it changed hands.

Tonight would not be a third as The Miz retained his championship over Sami Zayn.

Despite Zayn's best efforts with pulling out all his usual weapons from his arsenal including a devasting Blue Thunder Bomb, The Miz retained his title against the Underdog from the Underground with additional help from his wife, Maryse.

During the match, there was a back and forth chain of trying to lock the figure four leg lock in on one another. It looked as though Zayn had won the match by the ringing of the bell, but the official did not actually do the deed.

It was Maryse. While the referee was distracted, Miz went for a schoolboy roll up and got his opponent by the tights and kept his prestigious title on Smackdown. Could this set a precedent for the Cruiserweight Championship later tonight?
