Jim Ross, legendary commentator in the world of professional wrestling, will add another accolade to his already impressive trophy case as the Cauliflower Alley Club well present him with this NWA Lifetime Achievement Award.
Ross was both the voice of WCW in the early years, and later in the WWF/E where he made himself a legend in the field calling matches for over a decade with the company. Both side title plate represent both eras of his career, with the center plate commemorating all things JR. From the Boomer Sooner slogan to the cowboy hat, it embodies the imagery of what comes to mind when somebody says the name "Jim Ross".
"Jim Ross is an icon in sports broadcasting, not just in wrestling," NWA President Bruce Tharpe said in a statement. "and it is an honor to induct him into the National Wrestling Alliance Hall of Fame."
The Cauliflower Alley Club meets every year and is comprised of retired boxers and professional wrestlers. Other recipients of awards when they meet in Las Vegas from April 11-13th are WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus, Ken Patera, WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson, and WWE Hall of Famer "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff.
Ross now works as an English commentator for New Japan Pro Wrestling as well as a Fox Sports contributor. Ross called Wrestle Kingdom 9 last year alongside Matt Striker as well.
