Last August, we reported that The Blob was sighted on the set of X-Men: Apocalypse, and now the film's director, Bryan Singer, has confirmed it by posting a first look photo at the (not so) immovable mutant.

The image features The Blob lying flat on his back after being beaten in a cage fight by Ben Hardy's Angel. The caption reads,"Mutant Martial Arts. Light as a feather."

The Blob made his feature film debut in Gavin Hood's 2009 superhero film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He was played by Kevin Durand (Vikings), who wore facial prosthetics and a fat-suit to mask his much-leaner frame.

The robust mutant has superhuman strength and endurance, and he can generate a gravity field that renders him virtually immovable, as long as he's in contact with the ground.

His blubbery skin has an elasticity that is virtually impenetrable. It gives him the confidence to obnoxiously laugh off gun shots, missile attacks and even a good clawing.

In 2005, The Blob was de-powered during the Decimation storyline, but more recently, he gained his powers back with the help of Mutant Growth Hormones (MGH).

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshipped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters May 27, 2016.
