Lotte Verbeek Says She's Sorry Agent Carter Got Canceled

During a panel at 2016 MCM London Comic Con this weekend, Agent Carter's Lotte Verbeek -- the actress who played Ana Jarvis in the series -- thanked fans for their support and expressed regret that the series got cancelled.

"It's a really different show in terms of it felt like it added something to TV that's really fun and very Marvel, but also kind of different that way...you guys were just amazing in supporting it and I'm sorry it got cancelled; I feel like we're kind of letting you guys down, but it wasn't my decision, unfortunately."

The series ran for two seasons before ABC failed to renew it earlier this month. Series star Hayley Atwell, whose character, Peggy Carter, died during Captain America: Civil War, scored a new series on the network.

The show had picked up the adventures of Peggy Carter, Captain America's love interest during World War II and a founder of S.H.I.E.L.D., along with Iron Man's parents, their butler Jarvis, and more. From the producers behind Reaper, the series earned strong reviews and had a passionate and engaged fan base, but that wasn't big enough to keep it afloat.
