Director Kevin Smith was able to work on CW's The Flash this year, and overall the episode was well received.

While the entire team over at Flash, including star Grant Gustin, are excited to invite Smith back for a possible season three stint on the show, the director also mentioned recently how he would love to work on sister show Arrow as a writer at some point.

During a recent Facebook Live, Arrow star Stephen Amell was asked about the possibility of this happening for the upcoming season five.

Smith Arrow

"I'd say they are good. He's not directing one this year, unless things change, which they always can, and they already have, so please try to interpret that the best way you can."

The good news for fans is that Smith has previously said he doesn't want to direct an episode of Arrow, rather he just wants to help write two, specifically an arc for his Green Arrow villain Onomatopoeia. He told Variety "I would love to jump in for a one or two episode arc just to bring that Onomatopoeia character to life."

Amell seemed pretty receptive to the idea when he responded to a Facebook post about Smith's villain with "This is a f****** awesome idea."

I imagine he isn't in alone in that thinking.

Arrow returns to television for season five in October.
