Star Wars Fan Vote Finalists Include Starkiller, Captain Rex, And More

Hasbro has announced the next round of voting in the Star Wars Fan Figure Vote. As implied by the name, the Star Wars Fan Figure Vote gives fans an opportunity to help decide one of the next characters to be made as part of the high-end Star Wars: The Black Series line of 6-inch figures.

After the open nomination phase run on a myriad of Star Wars fan sites, six finalists have been named. In what may be a surprising moment to some, but not to internet-based fans, four out of these six finalists are actually "Legends" characters who are not currently considered in-canon. Only Captain Rex and Dengar have appeared in canon material, though there is hope for Legends characters making their way in, as Grand Admiral Thrawn was this past weekend. Fans can head over to the Star Wars website to cast their vote. The current nominees are:

• Starkiller, Darth Vader's secret apprentice from the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed videogames.
• Captain Rex, the clone trooper who was second-in-command to Jedi General Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and who reemerged as a rebel ally in Star Wars Rebels.
• Jaina Solo, the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia who became Jedi master in the Star Wars Legends continuity.
• Dengar, the bounty hunter who has appeared in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and the current run of Star Wars comic books.
• Darth Talon, a Sith Lord from the Star Wars Legacy comic that is now in the Star Wars Legends continuity.
• Mara Jade, the bounty hunter who married Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars Legends continuity.

The poll will remain open up until the beginning of Hasbro's San Diego Comic-Con Star Wars panel on Friday, July 22, at 12 p.m. PT, where a winner will be announced.

Last year's Star Wars Fan Vote winner was Darth Revan, Jedi/Sith from BioWare's Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: The Old Republic videos games. Runner-Up Sabine, from Star Wars Rebels, was also added to Star Wars: The Black Series.
