Watch Brie Larson Announced As Captain Marvel At Marvel Studios Comic-Con Panel

On Saturday at the Marvel Studios panel in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, Academy Award winning actress Brie Larson (Room) was announced as the much-coveted role of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel.

Larson's confirmation was a bit of a shock to the attendees of the panel as it came at the last the moment when Kevin Feige stopped and introduced her to the panel and the audience. You can check out the video below and witness the crowd's excitement at Larson's reveal.

It's been rumored for a few months now that Marvel was eyeing Larson for the role of Carol Danvers, who will be Marvel's first female-led solo movie franchise. In an interview back in June, Larson was coy about taking the role and seemed she wasn't sure about who Captain Marvel actually was. It seems now that was also an act. Well played, Ms. Larson.
