Please enable Javascript to watch this videoWhile the companies keep things civil and generally pleasant these days, the big two known as DC and Marvel are still perceived to be in the midst of a rivalry when it comes to their recent film universes, and in many eyes, Marvel is winning the fight rather convincingly.

Actor Samuel L. Jackson is currently starring in Tim Burton's Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, but during the press tour, the Nick Fury actor was asked about the clashing of each company's fanbase online in regards to their films (via Collider).

"success breeds contempt," said Jackson.

When asked why the two have to be odds and just can't get along, Jackson took a not so subtle jab at their competition. "Isn't that a question that people at DC are asking themselves? (laughs) Marvel people don't, I don't think the Marvel people are asking themselves that question."

When the interviewer says how much he loves Man of Steel, Jackson responds "Hopefully Wonder Woman will be great too, ya know, because a friend of mine trains her, so I hope it's good. You know, I think there's room for everybody to exist out here, and the fact that it's not working or doesn't work or people want a specific thing, I mean that's what makes movies the movies and what makes audiences audiences, so hopefully they'll make one of those movies one of these days and it'll be as big as a Marvel movie."

As Jackson mentioned, DC's next opportunity is with Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman film, which will be followed by their first team film Justice League later that year. As for Marvel, their next project is the anticipated introduction of magic in Doctor Strange, with Guardian's of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hitting after that.
