"I have no rival!"

Another new addition due to the "Flashpoint" timeline, as seen in last week's season premiere of The Flash, was The Rival/Edward Clariss (played by Todd Lasance), an evil speedster that torments Central City, mortally wounded Kid Flash, was defeated by The Flash, and was shot and killed by Joe West.

Below, you can check early concept art of The Rival's costume that was illustrated by professional conceptual artist, Andy Poon, and designed by costume designer, Maya Mani. It's pretty much the same as the one seen in the show, with a horned mask and a black-and-orange color scheme; however, you'll notice in the design that the mouth is covered. I'll assume that aspect of the designed was nixed for the show because it looked too similar to the mouth-covering Zoom had.

"The Rival may be a fairly minor character to many modern-day fans," says Comicbook.com's Russ Burlingame, "but he was not only the original Reverse-Flash, but later turned into a huge problem for the Justice Society — who are appearing in DC's Legends of Tomorrow this year. Flash fans will probably remember that we here at ComicBook kept expecting Clariss to be revealed as Zoom last season, so there's plenty to read about him HERE if you're interested."

Be sure to check out the next episode of The Flash, which is titled "Paradox." Here's its synopsis: "Barry (Grant Gustin) realizes the effects from Flashpoint are much greater than he thought. Meanwhile, Barry meets new co-worker Julian Albert (Tom Felton) and is surprised by Julian's immediate disdain for Barry."

Based on the characters from DC, The Flash is from by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (Arrow, Supergirl), Andrew Kreisberg (Arrow, The Flash), Sarah Schechter (Arrow, DC's Legends of Tomorrow) and Aaron and Todd Helbing.

When times change, people change. The Flash is new Tuesday at 8/7c on The CW!
