Forget for a moment that things like faster than light travel is currently an impossibility and that Quad Laser Cannons don't exist yet, how much would it cost to theoretically build your own Millenium Falcon? Twizzle, who also recently estimated the cost of building a Death Star, exercised their calculating skills to figure it out.

As you can see, building the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy doesn't come cheap. At around $2,474,132,337 USD, your average citizen might not be able to afford it, but if you're willing to cut a few corners, the savings start adding up. For example, if you're not going to pay for a crew, have a hangar, and don't need a Dejarik table, you'll be saving yourself $4,184,828.55 USD. See? Sounds much more attainable already.
