Superhero flicks may be a violent spectacle to behold, but it doesn't look like there's bad blood between these two directors. Scott Derrickson recently wowed fans when Marvel's Doctor Strange debuted. His fellow director James Wan, who's set to helm Aquaman, was just as impressed as everyone else. And, now, the latter is letting Derrickson know just how he feels about his work.

In a recent tweet, Wan reached out to Derrickson and congratulated him on his success with Doctor Strange. The film recently raked in more than $616 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing solo superhero film ever. "Congrats to [Scott Derrickson] for his incredible achievements. Whose career I've admired and emulated. From low budget horror to tentpole," Wan wrote.

Derrickson then replied, saying, "Thank you so much James." The response was also accompanied with a slew of prayer hands and devil horns emojis. And, befittingly, Derrickson even included an emoji of an eye to reference Doctor Strange's infamous 'Third Eye' sequence.

Right now, Wan is gearing up to tackle his own superhero flick. The director has been busy scouting possible shooting locations for Aquaman over the past month. The movie finally moved into pre-production in November, so Wan and his team have been busy prepping for a massive filming schedule.

So, who knows? Maybe when Aquaman splashes into theaters, Derrickson will get in touch with Wan about the premiere as thanks for the latter's kind message today.
