Director and storyboard artist Jay Oliva shared a few details about his involvement with the Knightmare sequence in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice as he was a guest on this week's Shanlian on Batman podcast. Oliva, who most recently directed the animated DC hit Justice League Dark, shared he was happy with how the sequence in question panned out.

"I did the Knightmare sequence with future Batman, I did that. Although, it was great because, you know," Oliva said. "I just watched it again the other day and that last shot where it's just one long continuous take where Batman is fighting and he eventually gets taken down, that was something that I had talked to Zack about, about like, 'Wouldn't it be cool if it was like a Children of Men-style like one-shot through it all?'"

Oliva went on to say that while he was happy they kept the scene one long take, there were some additions in the final product that he didn't have in the story boards.

"What's funny is that was a late addition, I think Zack added that after I had done it, because originally it was just supposed to be the Superman kind of bad guys and then Batman was just to get taken over," reflected Oliva. "So, I was as surprised as you guys that the Parademons were in it, but I knew where they were going to lead to."

Oliva also revealed that has spent some time working with Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and its Ultimate Edition are now available on Digital HD and Blu-ray. Oliva's most recent animated project, Justice League Dark, is also available on Blu-ray and Digital HD.
