If you are a fan of the Transformers films, then Michael Bay is about to make your day. This year, the blockbusting director will bow out of the tech-savvy franchise with Transformers: The Last Knight - but the films will live on. Today, Bay spoke at a preview event for The Last Knight over in London, and it was there that the director made one huge announcement: Paramount Pictures has no plans to drop off Transformers in the future.

In fact, the studio currently has more than ten new story ideas in development. Yes, you read that correctly. According to Bay, the writers team for Transformers has brainstormed a total of 14 new ideas for upcoming movies. The director said the new stories had been created whilst The Last Knight was finishing up. So far, it seems like Bay's final Transformers film will lay the foundation for the remainder of Paramount's movies and spin-offs. Fans already know that studio is working on a Bumblebee movie with director Travis Knight, but it looks like Paramount will need more creative heads in the coming years.

As for whether Bay may take on one of those new movies, the answer seems like a hard no. The director stressed The Last Knight would be his last go at the franchise.

Transformers: The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Haddock).

The cast of Transformers: The Last Knight features Mark Wahlberg (Planet of the Apes) as Cade Yeager, Isabela Moner (100 Things To Do Before High School) as Izabella, Josh Duhamel (Life as We Know It) as Lieutenant Colonel William Lennox, John Turturro (The Big Lebowski) as Seymour Simmons, and Tyrese Gibson (Furious 7) as Robert Epps, as well as Jerrod Carmichael (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising), Anthony Hopkins (Thor: The Dark World).
