If you are a fan of Bleach, then you likely have some strong opinions about how its anime ended. The franchise stands as a very popular shonen title for both domestic and foreign fans, but Tite Kubo's series came to a lackluster end in the world of anime. While the creator let Bleach die with a bang in Weekly Shonen Jump, Studio Pierrot's anime take on the supernatural series ended with a whimper. Fans continue to argue over the show's unsatisfying finale, and it seems like they are not the only ones letdown by Bleach's quiet self-destruction.

Apparently, one of the anime's stars is not all too pleased with its demise. Not long ago, the English voice actor for Ichigo appeared at an anime convention in Greensboro, North Carolina where he held a Q&A panel for fans. It was there that Johnny Yong Bosch was asked about another anime title he stars is and its unexpected return. Speaking about Code Geass' upcoming revival and its tidy finale, Bosch said he was unsure where the franchise needed to make a comeback. But, when it comes to Bleach - that is a different story.

"It was a great ending whereas Bleach was like, 'Ummm,'" Bosch said, referring to the season two finale of Gode Geass at first.

"I think there was a little more than that."

Of course, Bosch is not wrong about that. When the Bleach anime ended back in 2012, Studio Pierrot failed to adapt the manga's final arc for the screen. Fans were upset that one of Kubo's best storylines was left out of the anime, and networks were hesitant to host Bleach because of its dwindling ratings. So, when the 'Lost Agent' storyline ended, Studio Pierrot made the decision to wrap the anime.

For fans, that means they never got to see the story's epic culmination adapted into an anime. The 'Thousand Year Blood War' story was left out, and audiences continue to bemoan the gritty storyline's absence. The dark storyline stunned fans when it was in print as Kubo's art became very graphic and deadly gore became an all too common occurrence. Several major characters from the franchise were killed off during the manga storyline, and it reintroduced the Quincy race as a lethal threat to the Soul Reaper community.

It's no wonder that Bosch is a bit disappointed that he never got to guide his take on Ichigo through the arc. It would have given the half-Shinigami a grounded farewell. So, who knows? Maybe the actor will get the chance to revive the orange-haired hero one day in the future.

If you are not familiar with Bleach, then you can always take time to catch-up. Created by Tite Kubo, the manga was first published in 2001 by Weekly Shōnen Jump. Since its release, Bleach has become one of the most popular mangas in history as it still ranks as a best-selling series in both Japan and the U.S. Bleach has sold over 84 million copies in Japan alone, and the series has gone on to spawn spin-off media with its popular anime, video games, films, musicals, and tons of licensed merchandise.
