Now that Wonder Woman is less than a month away, it’s time to look to the future and start speculating about the next films in the DC Movie Universe.
No, we’re not talking about Justice League. Or Aquaman. Or Batgirl, or even The Batman. We’re talking about Wonder Woman 2!
Last month at WonderCon Geoff Johns would not give the green light yet on a Wonder Woman sequel, but during a red carpet event in Shanghai, China, DC Films architect Zack Snyder revealed that Wonder Woman 2 is definitely in the cards.
The news came from Arthur Wong who was in attendance at the film’s Shanghai premiere, taking photos and getting autographs on the red carpet. Wong stated that Snyder himself confirmed Wonder Woman 2 plans while his producing partner and wife Deborah Snyder said that Joss Whedon's Batgirl would be the next woman superhero to get the film treatment.

Wonder Woman’s final trailer was a hit among fans and Warner Bros. has certainly amped up their promotion of the film as they approach the release date. But now that the hype machine is rolling in full force and audience reactions are mostly positive, it seems like Wonder Woman might be a box office success for Warner Bros. Hopefully we learn more about the sequel and whether director Patty Jenkins will be back in the future.
For now, let’s just take a moment to be thankful that this long-awaited moment is finally here and that the Princess of Themiscyra is finally taking to the silver screen.
