We don't see too many Gundam games here in the U.S., even though they're releasing like crazy over in Japan. So, when we do end up getting something here, it's certainly worth celebrating.

With that, Bandai Namco is bringing us some Gundam love later this year, as the company has announced that it will release Gundam Versus for PlayStation 4 on September 29th.

"World famous giant robot series and notorious head-to-head smash hit, Gundam Versus, is coming to the Americas for the first time for home console, this time built from the ground up exclusively for the PlayStation 4 system," the company noted in its press release. "Pilot legendary Mobile Suits, each equipped with their own weapons systems to learn and master along with enhanced mobility options allowing for advance strategies to evade and outwit opponents, in explosive two-on-two and three-on-three online battles."

The game will feature over 90 Mobile Suits for fans to choose from, covering pretty much the entire Gundam series – so there's no doubt something here for fans.

What's more, the way you can set up online battles with others is pretty fascinating, as you can tear it up with a number of options available. What's more, Bandai Namco has already promised that the servers will be wide open for online play, meaning no regional restrictions. That means if you want to take on buddies in Japan and you're based in the U.S., you can connect with ease.

On top of that, gameplay will see a neat charge forward – literally – with the ability to dash downward, so you can attack enemies with a new dodge tactic and refill your boost gauge once you're on the ground. The more mobility you get for a game such as this, the better.

Bandai Namco showed off the game this weekend to an excited crowd at Anime Expo, and it looks to be another big hit in the Gundam line-up. Who knows, this just might motivate the publisher to give other big games a chance here, since we're all Gundam fans.

Check out the trailer above, and prepare for battle later on in the year!
