There has been no short supply of clones attempting to imitate the success of Pokemon Go after the game's release, and while some of them employ monster-hunting gimmicks or perhaps an entirely new idea, one of them offers the chance to catch boyfriends and girlfriends to add to your collection.

This particular catch-'em-all clone comes from Pocket Catch Games which you might be able to discern is a company that is no stranger to these kinds of knock-off games. Their different versions of Pokemon Go come in several different forms, but the somewhat uncomfortable dating-oriented ones are called Pocket Girlfriend Go and Pocket Boyfriend Go.

By using the in-game radar and tracking down some nearby relationship material you can become a "true pickup master," according to the games' descriptions. Each caught companion is added to the player's collection and comes with a unique description of the boyfriend or girlfriend, all of them caught through the use of some conspicuously red and white "Pocket Balls."

Both games appear to have had some success with downloads as well; Pocket Girlfriend Go has been downloaded over 50,000, Pocket Boyfriend Go has been downloaded at least 100,000 times, and both of them are hovering at just around 4/5 stars in the Google Play store. Each of the games has also been rated hundreds of times, though the reviews offer a bit of mixed opinion on the games. Some have said that collecting the girlfriends in the game is akin to having a wife, some said that the boyfriend version assisted players in learning about boys, but others have knocked the lack of interaction after catching the boys and girls, complaining that there's no option to chat with them. Complaints of duplicate catches were also in the reviews with players pointing out that all of the variations could be caught in one day.

Pocket Catch Games has a total of 16 Pokemon Go variations on the Google Play store, some of which involve ponies and some that involve puppies and kittens, the most recent of which is called Infected Pony Go. You can check out the full list here at their in-game store to see if one of the variations suits you.
