A little while back, we posted a new story about the overhaul that WWE 2K18 was getting in terms of visuals, where wrestlers will look more life-like than ever before. But that's apparently not the only 2K Sports product that's getting a visual overhaul.

The developers at Visual Concepts have released a new video for NBA 2K18 that highlights the revamped art style that the game will see, in an effort to make it the most dynamic – and realistic-looking – basketball game on the market. The three or so-minute video, which can be seen above, offers a number of highlights, right down to the look of the uniforms.

On top of that, the faces actually look much more realistic this time around, and some of the scars and tattoos from players have been replicated as well. There may still be a few goofy-looking examples, but, for the most part, the team wants to make absolutely sure the game looks better than ever.

And to prove just how good a player you can create, there's another section that takes a look at MyPlayer, where you can scan your face and create players from scratch in the hopes of generating key choices for players. It's promising thus far, but we're waiting to try the game out before we make final judgment.

Speaking of trying the game out, 2K Sports has also confirmed that a demo for the game will be released before it arrives in mid-September. Called The Prelude, it'll allow you to create a MyPlayer from the ground up and take them through the college years of basketball before being signed to an NBA team. You'll get a good taste of how the gameplay works with the demo, and any progress you make will carry over into the final product.

The Prelude is set to debut on September 8th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (sadly, not Nintendo Switch). That'll give you an advantage over checking out the full game on platforms, including PC, when it arrives on September 19th. Better get your "baller" attitude on, because this game means serious business.
