Though the television series that was inspired by Resident Evil announced a few years ago is officially dead in the water, it doesn't mean that horror fans can't still get a look inside what could have been.

Mance Media and Shawn Lebert announced together their plans to work on a TV series called Arklay. Arklay was a new show that was heavily inspired by the long-standing Capcom franchise Resident Evil and the news of its development definitely got fans hyped up on what could have been. The original synopsis was:

"Inspired by the Resident Evil franchise, ARKLAY is a new scripted survival horror series that delves into the mysterious homicides of Raccoon City. When Detective James Reinhardt is thrust into a series of bizarre homicides, he unravels the city is hiding a dark conspiracy. Learning a fatal virus is connected to it all, Reinhardt discovers it's already coursing through him. With time no longer on his side, he must solve the conspiracy to save his own life."

The show was originally supposed to make its debut back in 2015, but no one heard a word. As the supposed release date came and went, most just assumed that the series is dead. Well ... they were right and Arklay was officially laid to rest. Fortunately for those curious minds, there is a proof-of-concept short film that Lebert had in his possession that he recently just made public to tide fans over. We may never see the full series come to fruition, but it is neat to see where they were planning on going with the laid out narrative.
