When it comes to Marvel's Netflix series, it's easy to put them off indefinitely if they don't seem like your cup of tea, but with Marvel's The Defenders hitting Netflix on August 18, time is running up to watch all four series to prepare for the epic team-up. Luckily, we've got you covered, and you can get a recap of anything you might have missed in Marvel's Jessica Jones by watching the video above.

Debuting in 2015, Krysten Ritter stars as private eye Jessica Jones who might be one of the only heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe who seems to resent having any powers in the first place. Whereas Marvel's Daredevil explored a blind super hero pursuing justice while driven by guilt, Marvel's Jessica Jones featured incredibly complex themes, demonstrating not just the physical abuse one subjects themselves to when hoping to make the city safer, but David Tennant's Kligrave proved to be one of the most compelling villains ever put to screen.

The second series to be released on Netflix, Marvel's Jessica Jones is also one of the highest rated Marvel TV series, sitting at a 92% on review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes.

Consisting of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist, Marvel's The Defenders will feature eight episodes and promises to be the television version of 2012 Marvel's The Avengers, a crossover event pre-planned far in advance within the Marvel universe, previously set up by singular properties.

Along with the return of the four main characters, we'll also see the return of certain key characters from each individual show, such as Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, Carrie Ann-Moss as Jeri Hogarth, Elodie Yung as Elektra, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, to name a few.

Plus, we'll see the debut of Sigourney Weaver as Alexandra, an intelligent adversary described by showrunner Marco Ramirez as "a very powerful force in New York City."

Whether you've seen every Marvel series before and need a refresher or want to get caught up on all the buzz before Marvel's The Defenders premieres on Netflix on August 18, check out all of our cram sessions before bingeing the new series!
