First Pixels Movie Clip Highlights Pac-Man

Sony Pictures has released their first official clip for Pixels, the action-comedy starring Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Peter Dinklage, and your favorite 80's arcade game characters.

In the below clip, the king of arcade characters himself—Pac-Man—chomps away a civilization like a pixelated pretzel. Driving in "Ghost" cars to stop Pac-Man, the film's cast and Pac-Man's creator Toru Iwatani try halting the behemoth ball's path.

Well, it looks like diplomacy doesn't work with evil arcade characters.

Pixels tells the story of an alien race who, after misinterpreting video feeds of classic arcade games as war declarations, attack the Earth with pixelated arcade characters. With Earth under attack from Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, and other classics, the Earth's last hope is a cabal of former arcade junkies.

Pixels hits theaters on July 24.
