If there’s one thing that many fans are asking throughout tonight’s episode of The CW’s The Flash, it’s this: Will #SnowJay become a thing?

Last year, in spite of Caitlin Snow’s tortured relationship with Ronnie Raymond, many fans shipped her with Barry Allen, The Flash. While the biggest ship on the show seemed to be #WestAllen, the marriage from the comics and Barry’s own dream pairing, there was no shortage of opposition from people who felt his crimefighting partner at S.T.A.R. Labs was a better match for the Fastest Man Alive.
Well, tonight it seems she’s taken a shine to the Fastest Man Alive after all…just not the one from “our” Earth.
“I will say that there’s sort of connection that these two have,” said writer and executive producer Aaron Helbing during a recent screening attended by ComicBook.com. “I don’t know, a comfort level — sort of an instant comfort level. That wonderful thing you don’t get with too many people in life, that I believe these two experience. I think they’re going to explore that a little bit. Jay and Caitlin are part of this bigger team at S.T.A.R. Labs and they’re going to have a series of interactions that I think we’re going to explore a little bit.”
“I think he…there’s something that he is struggling with that you’ll start to learn in the next couple episodes. That’s party where Caitlin comes into play, to help him with something,” added executive producer/writer Todd Helbing.
Of course, one assumes that at some point, Jay will have to head home…something that could be really rough on Caitlin, who has already lost the love of her life — twice — when Ronnie Raymond has gone missing, presumed dead.
What’s also interesting is Caitlin’s often-hinted-at future as Killer Frost, a Firestorm villain from the comics who shares her civilian name. In Garrick’s comic book backstory, one of his best friends — Alan Scott, the Earth-2 Green Lantern — had a long-running relationship and children with a supervillain. Could Jay (or someone close to him, at any rate) take on that role in the Arrowverse…?
