While many of you are dying to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens, I, and many others, are equally excited just to hear it! That's because legendary film composer, John Williams (Harry Potter, Jaws and Superman), has returned to the Star Wars saga. Now we can sample how he has composed the opening scene.

"This music will be studied by fans," Abrams shares with 60 Minutes, just before Williams instructs his orchestra to begin playing. "This is the very opening of the movie. After the crawl." Abrams adds, "It's almost cheating when you have John Williams because he writes feelings. He knows how to make your heart soar, like no one else."

In this continuation of the Star Wars saga, balance returns to the Force as the First Order, emerging from the ashes of the Empire, clashes with the Resistance, which includes scrappy newcomers as well as heroes from the former Rebel Alliance.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in U.S. theaters on December 18.
