In the most recent episode of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, several members of the team meet a much younger (but just as arrogant) Martin Stein. Stein, of course, is played by Victor Garber, and the younger version was played by Graeme McComb. So the question is, did McComb look enough like a young Garber to pass?

In order to know that, one would have to take a look at what Victor Garber looked like in the 1970s.
Garber actually made his film debut in 1972, playing the role of Jesus (yes, that Jesus) in the movie version of the hit musical Godspell. Godspell does not have much of a story, it is about a group of very different young people performing and retelling the Gospel with upbeat, modern (for the time) music alongside Jesus and John the Baptist. In the role of Jesus, Garber was given a very interesting look.
The brightly colored striped pants and red suspenders bring to mind Jax’s question about the 70s, did people really dress like that? The wild fro, clown shoes, and intense makeup are also of note. But perhaps the most interesting part of this look is the Superman tee-shirt, almost predicting that decades later, Garber would be playing a DC hero.
McComb’s looks were far more toned down in Legends of Tomorrow, but even in the ’70s it would probably be hard to pull off the costume Garber wore in Godspell. In any case, it will be interesting to see how all of the character look at different ages as the show continues on. In the meantime, who knows if we will get to see young Stein again? But if you at least want young Victor Garber, there is always Godspell.
