WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler was arrested in his East Memphis home early Friday morning, alongside his fiancee, for domestic assault charges.

Lawler, a wrestling legend in his own time, has been with the sport-entertainment juggernaut for over twenty years, but according to the WWE, he has been suspended indefinitely.

WWE made a statement on their website this morning that read the following: "WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Jerry Lawler has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest."

According to local reports, the couple got into an argument that turned violent and involved a gun. Lawler's longtime fiancee Lauryn McBride told police that Lawler held her against the kitchen counter, hit her in the head, pushed her against a stove, then put a gun on the kitchen counter and told her to kill herself.

Lawler told police the argument started when Lauryn lied about where she had been. Lawler said McBride scratched him in the face, threw a candle at him and kicked him in the groin. He had claimed she was drunk and threatening to kill herself.

WWE recently released Superstar Adam Rose for a similar circumstance and have seemed to be cracking down on employees for such crimes and it seems very unlikely that Lawler will be returning.
