Marvel Studios just released the first English sneak peak trailer for the James Gunn space epic Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and it delivers that same inner joy that the original has become known for.

While it isn’t the full trailer, which will hopefully be released soon, it does contain some awesome images that we’ve collected into the gallery. Highlights include Yondu and Rocket Raccoon exploring an unknown location, an apparent kidnapping of Gamora’s adopted sister Nebula, and of course, an adorable Baby Groot rocking a Star-Lord jacket at trailer’s end. It might be rather short, but the trailer did manage to pack in quite a few stunning moments.

Baby Groot is one of the best moments, even if his appearance is brief. Vin Diesel recently discussed how this version of the character is different than the older version seen in the first Guardians.

“He couldn’t be more naive as Baby Groot,” Diesel explained. “I always think of the Groot that we saw on the first Guardians as a college-level Groot, so he’s not fully grown yet, but he’s a man. And once he sacrifices himself at the end of the movie, now he has to start all over, so to speak, but we’re gonna see this goofy, adorable, baby Groot thing running around the screen and just learning as he goes.”

Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
