Given how iconic Megazord (aka, the Power Rangers battle robot, constructed by uniting individual battle units, or “Zords”) is to the franchise, and how different this new movie design is, it’s no wonder that we’re seeing such…impassioned reactions on social media.

The Power Rangers movie reboot has, in general, been looked at with skepticism and the now-standard divisiveness. The story has the same elements, but the tone and that “alien aesthetic” is distinctly different. And nostalgic fans don’t like “different.”
