It’s been known for some time now that the “God of motion” Savitar would be making his presence known in season 3 of The Flash, but some new on location photos reveal his next appearance might have even more ramifications than expected.

Potential spoilers from here on out so be warned!
The show is shooting right now in Vancouver’s Victory Square, where it has shot a few times previously. Hollywood North Buzz caught a few pictures of The Flash (Grant Gustin), Iris (Candice Patton), and a rather intimidating figure in motion capture gear. Even in the ridiculous suit, he’s rather imposing, but thoughts are that he is, in fact, Savitar. In the sequence, Iris ends up falling with Flash running to catch her. She appears to be passed out in his arms, and then the sequence ends. Iris being passed out is the best case scenario, and hopefully, she is still amongst the living.

Most of the primary villains (save for Gorilla Grodd) have been speedsters of some sort. Savitar also uses the speed force, but he is a much different creature than Zoom or Reverse Flash according to The Flash executive producer Todd Helbing.
“I think in general if you have some of these other meta humans, it gets hard to show how Barry can’t get them,” Helbing told IGN. “If you have another speedster, especially someone like Zoom, or Reverse Flash, you need somebody on an equal level to provide that threat that a lot of these other metas can’t do.”
“Savitar is more of a psychological villain in a weird way,” Helbing said. “I think the Hindu word for Savitar means God of Speed; he’s all about speed. Everything about this guy is different. I can’t go into super detail, but he’s not like Zoom or Reverse Flash.”
Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT; The Flash on Tuesdays at the same time; Arrow on Wednesdays and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow on Thursdays. All four series air on The CW. The “Invasion!” crossover will air beginning November 28.
