The British Board of Film Classification has filed the technical info of the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer and lists the run time as 1m 41s. For viewers wondering what that means in terms of trailer content: it’s pretty much what you would call a “concept intro” style trailer: it will likely introduce the premise and our major character(s) and give a small taste of the tone and style of the film – but actual story details, villain scenes, and action sequences will likely be kept to a minimum. It’s longer than a teaser, but not quite the “full trailer” that we’ll likely get between now and the full springtime marketing push.

So far, teaser moments of the trailer have included stylistic flourishes like 1st person POV sequences. If director Jon Watts has a lot of that in the film, then a “concept intro” trailer is the right way to go. That’s especially true for Homecoming: as the third live-action version of Spider-Man to come along in the last decade, fans really do need to have this film distinguished as something different, and worthwhile.
