After losing to Fifty Shades Darker on Friday, The LEGO Batman Movie rallied to win its opening weekend at the box office.

The LEGO Batman Movie earned $55.6 million in its first three days. That’s slightly shy of the projected $60 million and well shy of The LEGO Movie‘s opening weekend total of $69 million, but a solid showing nonetheless.

Fifty Shades Darker came in second with a $46.8 million debut weekend. That a precipitous decline from the $85.2 million earned by Fifty Shades of Grey in its opening weekend.

John Wick: Chapter 2 came in third, building on the buzz of the original John Wick to earn $30 million in its opening weekend. That’s more than double the $14 million that John Wick earned in its first three days.

In The LEGO Batman Movie, there are big changes brewing in Gotham, but if Batman (Will Arnett) wants to save the city from the Joker’s (Zach Galifianakis) hostile takeover, he may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up. Maybe his superhero sidekick Robin (Michael Cera) and loyal butler Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) can show him a thing or two.

In John Wick: Chapter 2, in this next chapter following the 2014 hit, legendary hitman John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is forced back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers.

In Fifty Shades Darker, Anastasia has broken off her relationship with the troubled Christian to pursue a new career in a Seattle publishing house.
