Within the past week, a rumor surfaced saying Zendaya‘s role in Spider-Man: Homecoming had been spoiled by a novelization of the movie, only to seemingly be debunked a few days later. Even though her true role will be shrouded in secrecy until Homecoming hits theatres three weeks from now, director Jon Watts took a second to speak highly of the former Disney Channel star.

Comparing her to Ally Sheedy in The Breakfast Club, Watts called Zendaya an “amazingly technical character.”

“It makes me feel like such a bozo when I’m in front of someone who is that young and already just so good at what they do,” Watts told Vogue. While he had previously seen her work as a child actor on her Disney show, Watts said “she looked like a completely different person” when she auditioned.

Zendaya and Tom Holland’s Peter Parker swing into the Marvel Cinematic Universe on July 7, 2017.
