Marvel’s Biggest June Releases: Spider-Man, Shang-Chi, Avengers, Fantastic Four

Marvel Comics has revealed its upcoming releases for the month of June 2010. The releases include several big new titles, including Non-Stop Spider-Man #1, The Darkhold Alpha #1, and Shang-Chi #1. June also sees the Avengers and Fantastic Four crossover Empyre entering its final chapter. Non-Stop Spider-Man comes from fan-favorite creators Joe Kelly and Chris Bachalo and features a pulse-pounding new Spider-Man tale. “[Editor] Nick Lowe has a superpower. He picks up the phone, calls me and says the exact combination of words that make me want to drop everything and dive headfirst into the Marvel Universe,” Kelly said when the series was announced. “Last time it was Spider-Man, Deadpool, Ed McGuinness. No brainer, YES. This time it was Spider-Man, Non-Stop, Chris Bachalo. Again, YES… but ‘Non-Stop?’”

The Darkhold Alpha #1 is the Marvel debut of rising star writer Steve Orlando. The series involves Doctor Doom and the titular tome of dark, mystical power.

Shang-Chi is a new miniseries from acclaimed creators Gene Luen Yang and Phillip Tan. The series will redefine Shang-Chi’s place in the Marvel Universe ahead of his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Empyre is the cosmic event building off of classic Marvel Stories. It brings together the Avengers and the Fantastic Four while touching many other corners of the Marvel Universe.
