New Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side Of Dimensions Footage Highlights Yugi & Sera

Yu-Gi-Oh! will be making its long-awaited U.S. return when its latest film makes its debut in theaters. The special screenings will see new and old fans enjoy a brand new journey involving Yugi Muto and his friends. Over the past few weeks, a slew of teaser clips from Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions have made their way online. And, now, a longer piece of footage is out and gives fans a look at a new character.

Over on Facebook, Yu-Gi-Oh! shared a new clip that sees Yugi spending time at his grandfather’s shop. Left to his own devices, the hero is seen looking over his Duel Cards and pays special attention to his Dark Magician card.

“No way could I build a deck without this card. You’ve gotten me out of more dueling jams than I can count,” Yugi thinks aloud. However, the boy is taken back when he realizes he is not actually alone. The camera reveals that a young, brunette girl in Egyptian clothing.

“It’s lovely, that golden box. It has a kind of lovely glow,” the girl, Sera, says.

“Sorry, I didn’t hear you come in,” Yugi stammers. “You’re right; This box is very special. You see, it’s where I keep my duel cards. Not every one of them, of course – just the ones that are extra precious to me.”

“True,” Sera says, “but I think you mean cards extra special to you and extra special to the Pharaoh.”

Before the clip fades to black, fans can see that Yugi looks visibly startled by her reference to Atem/Yami, especially since the boy parted ways with the spirit long ago.

Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side Of Dimensions will screen in U.S. theaters on January 27, 2017. In Spring 2017, a new Yu-Gi-Oh! anime is also set to hit televisions thanks to TV Tokyo. The new series will follow a hero named Yūsaku Fujiki as he enters the dangerous world of Duel Monsters.
