The popularity of virtual reality is picking up, and with it comes all sorts of new experiences and opportunities. Anime fans have been waiting patiently for their chance to be teleported into their favorite series, and now it is possible. It was announced that Shueisha JUMP VR, will be collaborating with Dai Nippon Printing, to bring anime and manga fans multiple JUMP manga-related VR games to the upcoming Anime Expo this year. It looks like Death Note and One Piece will be getting their own games.

Japan Character VR

The new Shueisha JUMP VR experience is going to combine the newest VR technology with internationally popular JUMP manga series, such as One Piece and Death Note, to create a brand new interactive experience for fans. Japan Character VR Matsuri will be rallying together over ten teams of Japanese VR developers, for the first time in the United states during this event. The following four V.R. Experience games will be available to play at Anime Expo:

Death Note VR Escape Game (Gear VR): In the new Death Note experience, players play as the imprisoned Misa, who must work together with the Shinigami Rem in order to escape the basement before it fills with water and drown.

One Piece Cube (Oculus Rift+Touch): In the One Piece experience, fans can enjoy picking up One Piece illustrations with their very own hands. But that is not all, players can also build a 3D puzzle of the adorable popular character Chopper as well!

OnePieceCube

JUMP Cube (Oculus Rift+Touch): Manga fans get to appreciate illustrations from five popular franchise with their own hands in a VR environment. Fans also get to build a 3D puzzle of popular Bleach character, Kon!

JUMPCube

JUMP Art Gallery (Gear VR): Fans can explore the V.R. art gallery that features illustrations from popular manga. There is a special surprise in the final room.

Anime Expo will be taking place from July 1st-4th at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The new live-action Death Note will be available to stream on Netflix beginning August 25, 2017.
