Anime is known for having lovable and cute characters, we see this in shows like Little Witch Academia, or the beloved Hello Kitty, but not all characters are blessed by being kawaii. One of the best things about anime, is the over the top characters that we grow to love. But characters are not only over the top in a good way, because there is also an ugly side of anime.

We here at Comicbook have ranked the most hated characters, the best couples, and some of the biggest perverts, but today we take a look at the ugliest anime characters of all time. From characters with messed up teeth like Blackbeard, to just plain ugly in Studio Ghibli, this list has them all. So click the start slideshow tab below to see who made the list!

#5 Ichiya from Fairy Tail

Ichiya, the man with the craziest butt chin in the land, and an even crazier personality. He thinks he is beautiful and is known to not have a shirt (and sometimes pants) on in a fight to show off his chubby body. This guild leader is hilarious but ugly nonetheless...

#4 Dodoria from Dragon Ball Z

Dodoria, the large and pink alien warrior with protruding spikes on his arms and head. He kind of looks like a piece gum that was left on the ground and somehow grew spikes. The bright pink skin in contrast with his deep purple lips and eyes, along with his unattractive body and face put him on the list. Dodoria does shoot a giant beam out of his mouth though, so that's pretty neat.

#3 Yubaba from Spirited Away

Yubaba is not only ugly on the outside but also on the inside. She is the main antagonist in Spirited Away, and is selfish and evil. This witch is just plain scary and unattractive looking, and she turns has the ability to turn into a giant crow...

#2 Smiling Titan from Attack On Titan

All of the Titans from Attack On Titan are disgusting, but this specific one haunts our dreams for it's ugly smile. I mean just look at that smile and dead eyes.. ugh

#1 Witch of the Waste from Howl's Moving Castle

Another witch on the list from Studio Ghibli's Howl's Moving Castle. I think the picture below explains why she is number one, no comment needed...
