While plenty of series follow your everyday joe, there are other anime titles who tend to highlight the rich and wealthy.

Rags-to-riches stories are all too common with anime romances, and several shonen titles are bankrolled by young trillionaires who spend money like they were born to do so.

Here at ComicBook, we are giving you a glimpse into the anime world’s one-percent. These characters may not gloat in their riches, but they certainly do have some coin in their pockets – and they do not mind spending it.

Mina Tepes

There are few words to describe how wealthy Mina Tepes is. The character hails from Dance in the Vampire Bund, an anime which imagines a world where vampires are relocated to an artificial island to live in peace. The home is one where the creatures can live in peace, but Japan was reluctant to give it an okay. However, the country quickly gave Mina the greenlight after she paid off Japan’s entire domestic and foreign debt to the tune of $40 trillion. The payment didn’t affect the girl or her lifestyle one bit, and Mina continued to live in luxury even after the vampire’s new home was completed.

However, the lead managed to make more out of his family’s substantial wealth and even elevated his social status by becoming the Queen’s Guard Dog, a noted investigator of Britian’s seedy underbelly.

Seto Kaiba is the definition of a bad boy with a stacked bank account. The Yu-Gi-Oh! character may be Yugi Muto’s rival, but plenty of fangirls feel for his chic heart and wealthy status. Raised as an orphan, the clever boy managed to get himself and his brother adopted by the billionaire owner of the Kaiba Corporation. Then, when Seto was just a boy, his father threatened to disown the boy if he could not turn $10 million into $100 million. Not only did Seto manage to do that, but the Duel Monsters fanatic continued to hustle up cash until he could forcefully take over Kaiba Corporation. And, under his guidance, the organization only managed to earn more money.

Bulma

When it comes to Dragon Ball, most character seem like they are just doing their best to get by. Leads like Chichi are always looking to earn money for her sons, and Krillin works modestly as a police officer. However, in Bulma’s case, the blue-haired heroine doesn’t have to do a thing. She is the sole heir to the Capsule Corporation as her father Dr. Briefs created the hi-tech equipment. With a monopoly on the market, Bulma has enough money to live in several lavish mansions and even gifted high-grade spacecrafts to her friends free of charge. So, really, it looks like Vegeta married up.
