When it comes to Dragon Ball, there are few ‘normal’ families out there. Goku’s clan is a special one given its Saiyan heritage, and Vegeta’s brood with Bulma is rather over-powered as well. Fans had through Krillin would have a normal home life, but that all changed when the martial artist settled down with Android 18. And, now, fans can see just how awkward a reunion for this family is thanks to Android 17.

If you haven’t been keeping up with Dragon Ball Super, then you should know Android 17 recently reentered the franchise in the anime. The former villain came back for the ‘Universal Survival’ arc after Goku asked the android to help protect Universe 7 from annihilation. The powerful fighter agreed after a bit of convincing, and the choice helped him reunite with his estranged niece.

During a previous episode of Dragon Ball Super, Android 17 is seen awaiting for his sister’s arrival as she comes to pick him up with Krillin. Android 17 must leave his job as a Park Ranger to help Goku out, so Goten and Trunks offer their services in protecting the island. When the half-Saiyans arrive with Android 18, they go flying off to survey the area, leaving Android 17 to size up his sister’s daughter Marron.

Bending down, Android 17 can be seen putting a gentle hand on Marron’s head whilst Krillin panics. “Oh, you’ve gotten pretty big – Maron?” the boy asks, forgetting his niece’s name.

“It’s Marron,” Android 18 threatens. “Get it wrong against and I’ll kill you.”

After a moment, Android 17 apologizes before Marron asks how old her uncle is. Things quiet down for a second before the fighter gives one dead-panned answer.

“I’m 17,” Android 17 says, leaving the group to face-palm at the joke. Android 18 looks wholly unimpressed by her twin brother’s pun, and Krillin does his best to overcompensate with laughter.

For Dragon Ball fans, the reunion is just another slice-of-life moment, but it does highlight the family’s evolving ties. Krillin is trying his best to not fear Android 17 after their clashes in Dragon Ball Z; Android 18 treats her brother just like any other sister would. But, most importantly, Marron remains her adorable self.

Clearly, it won Android 17 right on over.
