Today, the Attack on Titan fandom has finally be let into one of the anime‘s biggest whodunnits yet. Since season one made its debut years ago, fans have been asking who the Colossal Titan and Armored Titan could be. The special creatures were instrumental in destroying Wall Maria years ago, and their appearance led to the death of Eren Yeager’s mother. Now, Attack on Titan has revealed the secret identities of the two Titans – and the ordeal has left fans shocked.

If you are still here, then you are likely one of the thousands who just watched Reiner and Bertolt reveal their Titan Shifting abilities. The former is none other than the Armored Titan while Bertolt stands as the massive Colossal Titan. The two cadets are comrades of Eren as the trio entered the Survey Corps in the 104th division after training. Now, the soldiers have found themselves at odds. The Armored and Colossal Titan seem determined to kidnap both Ymir and Eren – and the latter isn’t having any part of that.
Manga fans have been waiting for this reveal to make its way to animation for some time now. The revelation was first made in Attack on Titan‘s 42nd chapter titled “Warrior.” The chapter saw Ymir being sent to recovery after the soldier revealed she could turn into a Titan and nearly sacrificed her life to save her friends. The rest of the soldiers were then left smarting when they learned there was no hole in Wall Rose to let the sudden Titan invaders inside. Frustrated, Eren speaks with the Reiner about the issue at Wall Rose where the latter then makes his startling revelation. When Mikasa fails to kill him afterward, Reiner and Bertolt shift into their Titan forms in hopes of kidnapping both Ymir and Eren. However, the latter manages to escape and shift into his Titan form so he can battle the Armored Titan.
Next week, fans will get to learn more about the Titan shocker as Eren goes head-to-head with the Armored Titan in one epic grudge match.
