Funimation has come in clutch for Black Butler fans. Earlier this month, news broke that the studio was losing out one a very important part of anime canon. Funimation will lose its license for the first season of Black Butler at the end of May, and the move had fans concerned the entire series could follow suit. However, it doesn't look like that is the case. Thanks to Anime News Network, fans can breathe easier knowing Funimation will retain the rest of Black Butler.

Funimation Entertainment confirmed with the site that the rest of Black Butler wouldn't be affected by the license expiration. The title's other anime will still be available for home video and streaming. This bundle also includes Black Butler's various films like Black Butler: Book of Circus and Black Butler: Book of Murder.

Recently, the studio also acquired one of the franchise's newest anime installments. Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic made its debut in Japan earlier this January. The film has since been acquired by Funimation, and the studio plans to screen the film in the U.S. this June. No date for DVD or Blu-ray releases have been announced for the new film as of yet.

You can check out the synopsis for Black Butler: Book of the Atlantic below:

Ciel Phantomhive and his demonic butler, Sebastian, are back! And this next case has Ciel and Sebastian treading some rough waters. Aboard the luxury liner Campania, the two investigate an illegal human experiment that involves resurrecting the dead. But the closer they get to the truth, the closer they are to their own deaths! Will this be their final case or will one hell of a butler keep them afloat?

If you are not familiar with Black Butler, then you should know the popular series ws created back in September 2006 by Toboso. The manga was then adapted into an anime in 2008 and has continued to produce spin-out series over the year. The last Black Butler project debuted in 2014 when a two-part OVA hit Japanese theaters.
