Boruto Uzumaki isn’t even a full ninja, but the Academy student has already saved one of his village’s allies. The hero’s titular anime just wrapped up the ‘Hidden Mist’ arc after the boy stopped a coup from taking down the Mizukage. And, as fans expected, the new Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist got what was coming for them.

Earlier today, the new episode for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations went live. Fans watched as it picked up with the Leaf Village’s leave from the city, but fans were drawn back through how Boruto’s takedown of the Swordsmen happened.

As it turns out, Boruto and his classmates were able to stop the Mist’s coup from happening. The Mizukage rounded up all of the ninjas involved in the revolt and placed them in detention. With Shizuma and his comrades in prison, Chojuro admits he hopes to rehabilitate the ninjas, but fans are not sure if that is possible for the Hoshigaki.

When it comes to Kagura, the boy was given mercy from his mentor. Chojuro did not choose to imprison the Fourth Mizukage’s grandson with his accomplices thanks to his change of heart. The Mizukage understood why Kagura felt destined to revolt against the Mist, and the boy has since vowed to become more confident in his self-hood after meeting Boruto.

With the New Seven Ninja Swordsmen in jail, there is an opportunity for Boruto to bring them back up. There is no telling how rehabilitation will go for the delinquents, but fans have hope that a few of them will see the light. Shizuma and Buntan seem pretty set in their nefarious ways, but guys like Hassaku Onomichi could redeem themselves in the future. And, if they do, then fans will get to meet a new and improved version of the gang.
