It’s been awhile since fans have seen Gohan put aside his studious habits to pick back up his martial arts training. Fans have hoped the Saiyan would make a comeback in the on-going Dragon Ball Super anime, and Akira Toriyama finally answered those prayers when the show’s upcoming saga was announced. The “Universal Survival” storyline will see Gohan join his universe’s best fighters to face-off with some other intergalactic warriors in a martial arts tournament, so Gohan needs to get some practice in. And, apparently, it is his mother who asks him to spar with his father Goku.

The most recent issue of Weekly Shonen Jump debuted not long ago and held a slew of synopsis teasers for upcoming Dragon Ball Super episode. Notable translator Todd Blankenship uploaded an English version of episode 75’s description, and it teases that a family showdown is on its way.

You can read the summary of Dragon Ball Super‘s 75th episode below:

“Goku is bored without a training partner, so Chi Chi calls Gohan, who turns into Great Saiyaman and takes Goku on butโ€ฆ”

Clearly, boredom does not suit Goku. The insanely powerful Saiyan is one of the strongest Z-Fighters, and only Vegeta can amuse him when it comes to planet-side training. Gohan has proved to be a force before, and fans are curious to see how much of his skills remain following his years of studying.

However, if there is one thing about the synopsis that has surprised fans, it is the nod to Chi-Chi. The overbearing mother is notorious for wanting Gohan to abandon martial arts in favor of scholarship, so Chi-Chi must be desperate to preoccupy Goku if she’s asking Gohan to fight. So, if you want to see the father-son showdown, you should mark your calendars for January 22.

You can check out the brief synopsis for the “Universal Survival” arc below:

“At Goku’s request, the Omni-Kings’ “Tournament of Power” martial arts tournament between universes now begins! โ€ฆBut this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquishedโ€ฆ?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn outโ€ฆ?!”
