Things are getting busy for Goku over on Dragon Ball Super. After a round of exhibition fights, the Saiyan is now back on Earth prepping for one intense martial arts tournament. The Omni-Kings will hold a multiverse battle royal in order to see which universes need culling, and Goku isn’t about to see his world destroyed. To make sure Universe 7 stays intact, Goku needs to recruit his world’s best fighters, so there is little surprise to hear the Saiyan wants Android 18 on his team.

It’s just too bad for Goku that the artificial human is not interested in fighting for his crusade. In the next episode of Dragon Ball Super, fans will watch as Goku easily persuades Krillin to take part in the tournament, but the fighter’s wife is not so keen on joing. Thanks to a new synopsis for episode 84, fans know how Goku manages to change her mind – and the ploy involves a whole lot of money.

As translated by Todd Blankenship, the new summary of this week’s Dragon Ball Super episode can be read below:

“In order to gather team members for the ‘Tournament of Power,’ Goku and Gohan first visit Kuririn. While Kuririn agrees to participate, No.18 refuses, so Goku lies and says that there’s a 10 million zenny [sic] prize if they win.”

Clearly, it looks like Chichi isn’t the only character who can be bought over in the Dragon Ball franchise. In the past, Android 18 has chased after tournament prize money. She has forced Mr. Satan to fork over nearly 20 million zeni before multiplying it a hundred-fold. Android 18 is known for her gag interest in money, but the heroine does use it to help out her brother, husband, and daughter. So, really, who can blame the girl?

Dragon Ball Super recently kicked off the ‘Universal Survival’ saga. You can check out the brief synopsis for it below:

“At Goku’s request, the Omni-Kings’ “Tournament of Power” martial arts tournament between universes now begins! โ€ฆBut this also proves to be the beginning of universal destruction. What awaits the victors of this tournament, and the vanquishedโ€ฆ?! How will these intense team battles between the elites of each universe turn outโ€ฆ?!”
