This week, it looks like Dragon Ball Super will get one step closer to the action-packed climax of the ‘Universal Survival’ saga. The new story arc going underway back in February, and heroes like Goku will soon be entered into a brutal multiverse martial arts event which will put their worlds at stake. To prepare for the grueling event, Universe 7 has to compile a stacked team of warriors who can go head-to-head against some unbelievably strong fighters. And, in the next episode of Dragon Ball Super, the team will bring on the likes of Piccolo and a revamp Mr. Buu.

A preview for episode 85 of the anime has been released, and it gives fans a glimpse of what is about to come. In the clip, Goku is shown facing off against a brand-new Buu who has slimmed down after an intense bout of training. Gohan is shown approaching Piccolo as the half-Saiyan does his best to recruit his former mentor. And, in another faraway location, the rest of the multiverse’s gods gather together as they plan to plot against Goku during the tournament.

“Before the tournament begins, the “gods” sound each other out?!
The Kaioshins of each universe gather before the Tournament of Power! Although some suggest requesting the Omni-King to reconsider, opinions differ and they are unable to form a plan… Meanwhile, all the Gods of Destruction besides Beerus gather too, and hatch a scheme targeting Goku’s home, Universe 7?!
Take down Goku?! The Kaioshins and Gods of Destruction for each universe gather!!
Gohan goes to recruit Piccolo! Gohan visits his martial arts master Piccolo to ask him to enter the Tournament of Power!
Buu This Week: sparring with Goku?!
Buu can’t wait for the main event! His body has really shaped up as a result of his special training. He battles Goku in order to test out his current power, but?!”

Dragon Ball Super‘s “Universal Survival” saga is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami will begin airing the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
