Will Goku's New Form Help Him Surpass Beerus?
Goku’s rivalry with Vegeta does not seem to have an end, but the couple isn’t monogamous when [...]
Beerus
Mastery of Self-Movement sounds impressive and for good reason. Whis has already mastered the move, and Goku has always been in awe of the angel for being able to out-maneuver Beerus. While the God of Destruction is terribly powerful, not even Beerus can pull one over Whis thanks to the attendant's training. Over the years, Whis has tried to teach Beerus how to master the move, but the mentor once told Goku the God of Destruction had yet to master the technique. If Goku is able to get a handle on the form, then fans think the Saiyan has a shot at overpowering Beerus, but the assumption is a hasty one to make.
Goku v Beerus
If Goku's new technique is the same one Beerus is learning, the latter has had way more practice using the form. Dragon Ball Super proved how powerful Beerus is when he fights unconsciously as its 28th chapter show Beerus wrecking the rest of the Gods of Destruction. The Universe 7 deity may not have mastered Whis' lessons, but Beerus is certainly close to it. Goku will only just learned the technique when he goes against Jiren, and the Pride Trooper is said to curb-stomp Goku anyways.
Goku won't come to surpass Beerus in the next episodes of Dragon Ball Super, but the Saiyan's new power will make him one hell of a rival. The God of Destruction was happy enough with Goku's Super Saiyan God form, so imagine how Beerus will react to Goku getting a power he hasn't even mastered yet. Beerus will finally get to meet the Super Saiyan rival he dreamt about, and Goku will get yet another fighter to push him. And, if Vegeta manages to learn the technique, then the trio will unleash all sorts of havoc trying to one-up each other.
Dragon Ball Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami also airs the English dub on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
