When Dragon Ball Super commits, it tends to go all the way. The anime is proving just how dedicated it is to its current story arc now that the Tournament of Power is about to begin. A brand-new promo for the ‘Universal Survival’ arc has hit the Internet, and the updated clip gives fans a look at a familiar baddie.

The folks at Toei Animation released the new Dragon Ball Super promo over on Youtube. The footage itself should look familiar to fans as it has been seen before; The original ‘Universal Survival’ promo used much of the same footage.
Still, there is one notable change with this new video, and that is the addition of Freeza. The villain was added to the team representing Universe 7 at the Tournament of Power. Majin Buu held the spot at first, but the pink alien was forced to bow out when he fell into an impenetrable sleep. Desperate, Goku asked Fortuneteller Baba to revive Freeza for a set time to have the tyrant fight for Universe 7.
The update promo shows Freeza’s name card as well as some action sequences. The villain looks as destructive as ever thanks to all the training he did in Hell following his most recent death.
Fans got to see firsthand how insatiable Freeza’s bloodlust had gotten during a recent Dragon Ball Super episode. The villain found himself surrounded by assassins sent to keep him from entering the Tournament of Power. Unable to hold himself back, Freeza went on an all-out killing spree and even tried to stab Goku in the back before Beerus cleared up the whole mess.
For now, it looks like the lineup for Universe 7’s team is set in place as the Tournament of Power will begin shortly. Fans continue to pass around gossip of whether Majin Buu may somehow awaken in time to catch part of the tournament, or if someone like Yamcha make even make a brief appearance.
