Fairy Tail ended last year, but it doesn’t feel like the manga has really wrapped. Its creator Hiro Mashima is always ready to draw up characters from the shonen classic, and he did so for fans at a recent convention as a gift.

Unsurprisingly, the ship-friendly sketch got Gruvia fans feeling elated.

As you can see below, Mashima attended a comic and manga convention in France over the weekend. The artist was being honored for his work on Rave Master and Fairy Tail, but he also took time to do live drawings for fans. It was at one of these events Mashima penned a sketch of Gray and Juvia’s family – and their son looks absolutely bored.

The sketch is a simple one, but it shows the group posing for a family photo. Juvia can be seen to the right in a dress with her hair partially covered by a hat. Gray is seen in the middle with a clean suit on and a placid expression. Then, to the left, the pair’s child can be found standing in a suit like his father. The kid looks just as bored as Gray, and his deadpanned expression shows off his resemblance to Juvia.

Fans were quick to share the family photos online, and its photographer had this to say about the event:

It was for a drawing battle with other artists. They were given a theme and then drew what they wanted until it fit the theme. This theme was a ‘particular time in a specific era.’ Mashima did not say too much about it but that they just insult each other all the time.

They challenged themselves to put the poop emoji as much as possible in every single drawing.

This is not the first time Gray and Juvia’s child has been shared with the world. A few months ago, Mashima teased fans with the boy on Twitter when he posted a rough sketch of the kid. Mashima even showed fans what the daughter of Natsu and Lucy would look like should the couple ever get their flirty act together.

If you are not familiar with Fairy Tail, then it is about time you familiarized yourself with the story. The series follows a guild of young, powerful wizards who call Fairy Tail family. Set in a fictional Earth, a boy named Natsu teams up with an unlikely friend Lucy Heartfilia as the latter dreams of becoming a powerful wizard. To date, there are more than 250 episodes of the acclaimed series, and fans can expect more to come in the new year.
