April is going to be a huge month for anime, with the second season of Attack On Titan and My Hero Academia, as well many new releases.

One of those new anime adaptations that you should have on your radar, is Tetsuro Kasahara’s Atom The Beginning. As the series has released a new key visual today and it looks fantastic.
Atom The Beginning is the prequel story behind the birth of the infamous Astro Boy. The story begins in Japan after a disaster, where we meet two brilliant geniuses who spend their days dreaming of a better future. The scientists are named Umatarล Tenma and Hiroshi Ochanomizu. As the two of them worked countless days and nights in robot research, they have to very different ideas on what the goal is. Tenma’s end goal is to create a “god,” and Ochanomizu strives to create a “friend.” From this struggle of a collaboration, A106, was born. But with different views behind the creation, will the robot become a friend, a god, or both?
The film not only has a great story behind it, but also an amazing staff. The series will have Katsuyuki Motohiro (known for directing Psycho Pass) leading as chief director, in cooperation with Tezuka Productions. It has also employed a host of star voice actors, the stars along with concept art of the characters they will be playing can be seen in the slideshow below.
Atom The Beginning will have its own stage event at the end of March at the AnimeJapan 2017 event. The series will premier live on April 15 in Japan, and will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video in Japan on April 16.
