The first look at the highly anticipated Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen is finally here, teasing what lies ahead following the chaotic events of the Shibuya Incident Arc. The previous arc, brought to life in Season 2, elevated the original manga to a new level. The Shibuya Incident was a relentless wave of destruction that claimed many lives, including the tragic death of one of the seriesโ most beloved characters, Kento Nanami, during his fateful encounter with Mahito, the arcโs terrifying antagonist.

It could be said that the chain of tragedies truly began when Gojo Satoru was sealed inside the Prison Realm. Without the strongest sorcerer, the balance of power tipped heavily toward the villains, sparking countless devastating events. With Suguru Geto revealed to be Kenjaku, a centuries-old sorcerer now in control of the Prison Realm, fans grew increasingly anxious about Gojoโs fate. Unfortunately, the new teaser all but confirms how Gojo will factor into the upcoming season, and the outlook for him does not seem promising.
Jujustu Kaisen Season 3 Hints at Gojo’s Delayed Return

The nearly two-minute trailer for Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen offers a first look at many of the characters who will play significant roles in the next arc, but noticeably, Gojo is nowhere to be found. Considering his importance to the series, the teaserโs complete omission of Gojo suggests that fans may not see the beloved, fan-favorite sorcerer at all. The only reference to the strongest sorcerer comes indirectly through Yuta Okkotsuโs dialogue, which doesnโt even explicitly mention Gojo’s whereabouts. In fact, the sorcerers in the trailer donโt appear to be concerned with rescuing him at this stage.
Instead, the trailer focuses heavily on Yuji Itadoriโs next steps after the Shibuya Incident, alongside Yutaโs involvement, who remains determined to kill Yuji due to the binding vow he made to the Jujutsu higher-ups. This strongly indicates that Gojo will not be involved in the upcoming season, at least in Part 1 of Season 3, which is expected to run through winter 2026 with a total of 12 episodes.
If anything, the trailer points to Yuki Tsukumo stepping up as the leader in Gojoโs absence. Once Yuji and Yutaโs conflict is resolved, Part 1 may also set the stage for the sorcerersโ next move to rescue Gojo, which could form the central narrative of Part 2. However, it is important to note that Gojoโs absence should not be seen as a loss of excitement for the season. On the contrary, it provides an opportunity for other characters, particularly Yuji and Yuta, often regarded by fans as dual protagonists, to shine at the forefront of the story.
