There’s no denying it: Sasuke Uchiha is a bit of a brat. The anime character may be a role model for some, but audiences are not shy about pointing out the boy’s flaws. In the Naruto franchise, Sasuke is a rival to Naruto and a pain in the butt for the ninja world. After tragically losing his entire clan, Sasuke spent his life training to kill his elder brother, but the boy learned his goal was in vain after everything was too late.

Once Sasuke realized his goal was for not, the powerful ninja chose to exact revenge against the entire community. By the end of the anime, Sasuke’s plans did not exactly work out as planned, but he finally chose to reconcile with his abandoned comrades back in Konoha after more than a decade.
If you have ever wondered what the creator of Naruto thinks of Sasuke’s temper, then you don’t need to be curious for much longer. Masashi Kishimoto has spoken about his feeling towards Sasuke in the past, and the artist admits he cannot think of the Uchiha as a singular being. Instead, Sasuke is always viewed in light of Naruto.
“Sasuke is always in the corner of my mind. Naruto and Sasuke progress as a pair,” Kishimoto once told Shonen Jump Alpha. “So when I write about Naruto, I always have to think about Sasuke. They are on opposite sides of the spectrum, like yin and yang.”
Of course, anime fans are well aware of how closely Naruto and Sasuke are connected. The boys bonded quietly over their orphaned status in Konoha even if Sasuke could not stand Naruto’s keyed up personality. They were placed on the same genin team and spent their lives pushing each other to become stronger. And, even before the pair were born, they were destined to orbit around one another.
Towards the end of Naruto Shippuden, fans learned that Naruto and Sasuke were actually reincarnations of two very powerful men. The duo embody the sons of Hagoromo, the god of chakra. Sasuke assumed Indra’s place while Naruto took up with Asura, and the pair fell into the brothers’ tense feud all over again.
Even though Naruto Shippuden is coming to an end soon, fans will still get to see more of Sasuke. The remaining Uchiha is set to star in the upcoming anime Boruto: Naruto Next Generations. The sequel series will follow Konoha’s newest ninja as they train to become warriors and learn about their parents’ accomplishments. While the anime will focus on new characters for the most part, legacy characters like Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke will also be featured on and off.
